Highlights Of RBI Monetary Policy As On 16th Dec 2011

Mid quarter monetary policy review of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been released today, 16th December 2011. Central bank has kept key rates unchanged which includes cash reserve ratio (CRR) at 6%, repo rate at 8.5%, reverse repo at 7.5% and SLR is at 24%.

Repo Rate is the rate at which central bank lends to other banks. In this monetary policy review there is no change in the repo rate and it will kept at 8.5%.

Reverse Repo Rate is the rate which bank central bank keep the deposits of other banks. In this monetary policy review there is no change in the reverse repo rate and it will kept at 7.5%.

Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) is the minimum amount which other banks have to maintain with the RBI. In this monetary policy review there is no change in the CRR and it will kept at 6%.
