A debit card is a payment card made of plastic, issued by the bank or any other financial institution that can be utilized to make payments instead of cash. When you use a debit card for any purchase, the amount is directly deducted from your bank account. You can make both online and offline purchases with a debit card. Hence the debit card eliminates the requirement to carry physical cheques or cash to make purchases. However, the debit cards, unlike the credit cards, don’t let the users go into debt except for small overdraft limits. If you have the money in your bank account, you can use it. Debit cards usually have a daily purchase limit and withdrawal limit attached to them. Therefore, extremely large purchases may not be possible to make with a debit card.
