Income Tax Return is a form in which the assessee need to file information about his/her income and tax to the Income Tax Department at the end of each financial year. The ITR forms are namely ITR 1, ITR 2, ITR 3, ITR 4, ITR 5, ITR 6 and ITR 7. Each of these Income Tax Forms applies to a specific section of assesses depending on their income source and their category. Thus, while filing a return, you must know which form is appropriate for you. For example, if you are a salaried professional, you will need to file an ITR 1. The ITRs must be filed on or before the due date of submission. There is a penalty on the late filing of ITR. ITR has to be submitted online. However, the process of doing so is easy.
