TransUnion CIBIL Limited previously known as Credit Information Bureau India Limited was established in 2000 and is India’s First Credit Information Company. It was established to bring higher transparency and efficiency in the credit space. CIBIL has two major points of focus namely the Commercial Bureau that deals with the records of institutions and companies, and the Consumer Bureau that deals with consumer credit scores. CIBIL does not make any lending decisions. It only provides a database to banks who filter loan applications with this efficient and quick resource.
