Reports have been surfacing that the Aadhaar enrolment software has been compromised. The alleged Aadhaar enrolment software compromised report has been denied by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Reports had surfaced that the software was being tampered with and being sold for money. According to reports, the Aadhaar enrolment machines sidestepped operators biometric verification and enabled them to make Aadhaar cards without any documents. In a press release regarding the Aadhaar enrolment software compromised issue, the UIDAI called these reports false and misleading. Earlier reports had also spread that an alleged Aadhaar data breach of EPFO subscribers had occurred. The EPFO and UIDAI rejected these allegations. The UIDAI has also mentioned that people should not visit unauthorized centers. They should only approach authorized Aadhaar enrolment centers. Moreover, it is to ensure that the enrolment and updating are done on authorized machines and doesn’t lead to rejection.
