What Is An ITR-V Form?

ITR-V stands for ‘Income Tax Return Verification’ form. When an individual files his online return without using a digital signature, this form gets generated at successful e-filing of income tax return. ITR-V is a duly filled form which also contains the acknowledgement number of e-filling, you need to get the printout of the duly filled form and verify the same with your signature and post the verified copy to the IT department for further process.

Is There Any Time Limit For Submitting ITR-V To Income Tax Department?

You ITR-V should reach to the IT Department within 120 days of e-filing your return.

What If I Miss To Submit ITR-V Within 120 days?

If you miss to submit your ITR-V within 120 days, your e-filing will be considered as null and void. In such a case you will have to file revised return, get a new ITR-V and submit the same within 120 days.

What Is Revised Return?

If you want to rectify any of the details provided in the original return then in that case you can file a rectified return which is called as Revised return.

What Is The Last Date For Filing Income Tax Return?

The Due Date of filing your Income Tax Return for a financial year is 31st July after the end of the financial year. Like for the financial 1 April, 2010 to 31st March, 2011, the due date of filing Income Tax Return was 31st July 2011. Likewise for this financial year the due date is 31st July, 2012.
